“Come Saturday morning
I'm goin' away with my friend
Well Saturday-spend 'til the end of the day-ay
Just I and my friend

And then we'll move on
But we will remember
Long after Saturday's gone”
– Sandpipers

We sail from the dock at 8 am. This sailing trip happens almost every Saturday. When the tide permits we sail into the marina at Cabbage Key Inn for Lunch. Some claim this is the spot that inspired Jimmy Buffet to write the song “Cheeseburger in Paradise”. When the tides are against us we simply picnic on board and sail where the wind takes us. We will try to sail out into the Gulf. Food is not included on this trip. You may either buy a Cheeseburger in paradise or bring a sack lunch.
Please be at the boat, dockside 15 minutes prior to departure. You may bring whatever you wish to eat or drink. There is free drinking water on board. Soft drinks and snacks may also be purchased from our cheerful crew.

Banco Chincorro, Mexico
Banco Chincorro is an offshore reef, which lies in Mexican waters 35 km out in the Caribbean Sea, is about 80 km east of the city of Chetumal,is approximately 40.2 kilometres (25.0 mi) long from north to south, and approximately 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) wide at its widest point. The atoll's islands lie around a large central lagoon. The natural vegetation of the islands is largely mangrove near the shore shading into open woodland more than 20–30 m from the shore. There is a cayman reserve on the southernmost (and biggest) island. The islands (in common with many isolated tropical islands) are thickly populated with small crabs, which are tame and so easily trodden on inadvertently by visitors.
Some of the islands are inhabited by fishermen, who live in dwellings on stilts about 60-100 m offshore to subvert local regulations forbidding private construction.
Shipwrecks: The reef is home to at least nine shipwrecks, including two Spanish Galleons. The names of the known wrecked ships are: SS Caldera, SS Escasell, SS Far Star, SS Ginger Screw, SS Glen View, SS Penelopez, SS San Andreas, and SS Tropic.
Week Two June 12th to 19th: Belize $750 — $1,000 per person
Belize may very well have the most spectacular cruising waters of the western Caribbean sea. We will gunkhole around the Hol Chan Marine preserve and Turneffe Islands, snorkel the Great Blue Hole, and Glover reef. This week is spent island hopping in the near coastal waters of Belize. Fly in and out of the Belize City Airport.
