Our Ship

The Calypsa is a 1979 Formosa 51 Cutter Ketch. It is the same make and model as the boats used in the movies “50 First Dates” and “Captain Ron”.

In acquiring this Formosa 51 we looked at several of them all over the U.S., including the “Wanderer,” which is the actual boat from the Disney movie “Captain Ron.” Sadly the “Wanderer” was too far gone, and so we chose this gorgeous beauty and had her sailed down from Lake Erie where she had spent most of her sailing days. She is in remarkable condition for a 30-year-old sailboat. You will love her charm and strength.
